Math Olympiads are the series of tests created by MOEMS.org – A not-for-profit corporation dedicated to stimulating enthusiasm, fostering creativity, and strengthening intuition in mathematical problem solving. Each month from November through March, a 30-minute contest is administered online.
At Rising Future, we are excited to bring MOEMS series E and M tests to our students. Problems on MOEMS help students to see math beyond the procedures of the classroom. Student's get opportunity to apply their knowledge of math to solve problems that have multiple ways to get to the solution. MOEMS set of exams help students to strengthen their problem-solving skill and develop cognitive ability.
For the school year 2021-222 we are offering two different options:
-
- Contest only – This option includes all the 5 live contests offered by MOEMS from November to March. Students signing up for this option will take all the 5 tests, will get results, and will be eligible for receiving awards based upon their final ranking. Fees for this plan will be $49 and you will have to call us to register for this option.
- Contest and Prep – This option includes 5 live contests offered by MOEMS and prep for the exams. Prep class meets once a week for 20 weeks, each class is 1.5 hours long. In the prep class various questions from the previous exams and strategies to solve those problems are discussed. Students are assigned homework and the contest problems are reviewed after the test. Fees for this option is $449. this plan can be bought online.
Why should you sign you child up for this?
-
- With online instruction, it is all the more important that we find opportunity that allow children to stay engaged, challenge themselves and grow.
- MOEMS – During the regular school year, each school is allowed only a team of 35 students to participate on the MOEMS exam. This means that 99% of the students never get to see the rigor, challenge and thrill of these kinds of problems. This year, it is an opportunity for all elementary and middle school students to step out of their routine skills and get engaged in higher order problem solving.
