About the Course

Develop a Deeper Understanding of Physics

AP Physics 1: Algebra-Based helps students understand how and why objects move, interact, rotate, oscillate, and behave in fluids. Students develop the mathematical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills needed for success in their school course and on the AP exam.

This is an algebra-based physics course and does not require Calculus. Students learn to represent physical situations using diagrams, graphs, equations, written explanations, and mathematical models.

The focus is not simply on memorizing formulas. Students learn to identify relevant information, connect physical concepts, analyze unfamiliar situations, justify their reasoning, and determine which principles should be applied to solve a problem.

The course works alongside the student’s school curriculum, providing additional instruction and targeted practice with challenging concepts, assignments, experiments, quizzes, tests, and AP-style questions throughout the school year.

The goal is to help students succeed in AP Physics 1, develop strong scientific reasoning and problem-solving skills, and prepare confidently for the AP Physics 1 exam.
