AP Computer Science Principles introduces students to the broader field of computer science while developing computational thinking, programming, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Python is the primary programming language used in this course. Students gain hands-on experience with variables, conditional statements, loops, functions, lists, algorithms, and program development while exploring the broader concepts included in AP CSP.
The course works alongside the student’s school curriculum, providing additional instruction and support with programming, algorithms, data, computer systems, networks, cybersecurity, and the impact of computing. Students also receive help with challenging concepts, assignments, projects, quizzes, and tests.
No previous programming experience is required. The goal is to help students succeed in AP Computer Science Principles, develop strong programming and computational-thinking skills, and prepare confidently for the AP CSP exam and Create performance task.
