About Course

Build the Bridge from Algebra to Calculus

Pre-Calculus brings together and extends the algebraic and functional concepts students developed in earlier mathematics courses. Students deepen their understanding of functions, graphs, polynomial and rational expressions, exponential and logarithmic relationships, trigonometry, and other concepts essential for Calculus.

The focus is not simply on learning formulas and procedures. Students learn to recognize relationships between different representations, connect concepts, analyze unfamiliar problems, and determine effective approaches to solving them. This deeper conceptual understanding helps students become more confident and independent mathematical thinkers.

The course works alongside the student’s school curriculum, providing additional instruction, practice, and support with challenging concepts, quizzes, and tests. A strong Pre-Calculus foundation prepares students for Calculus and future college-level mathematics and STEM coursework.

Students enrolled in or preparing for AP Precalculus may also take this course for additional instruction and support.

Course Options

Rising Future offers two Pre-Calculus levels so students can select the class that best matches their current school course.

Regular Pre-Calculus

Designed for students taking a standard-level Pre-Calculus course.

The class focuses on:

  • Strong conceptual understanding
  • Functions and their different representations
  • Polynomial and rational expressions
  • Exponential and logarithmic relationships
  • Trigonometric functions and applications
  • Mathematical reasoning and problem-solving
  • Reinforcement of the school curriculum
  • Quiz and test preparation

Class Schedule: To be confirmed
Format: In-Person Small Group
Tuition: $240/month
Instructor: Mr. Singh

Honors Pre-Calculus

Designed for students enrolled in an Honors Pre-Calculus course. Instruction supports the faster pace and greater depth of an honors-level school curriculum.

The class places increased emphasis on:

  • Advanced functions and their applications
  • Multi-step and challenging problems
  • Trigonometric relationships
  • Mathematical reasoning
  • Applying concepts in unfamiliar situations
  • Preparation for Calculus
  • School quiz and test preparation

Class Schedule: Monday, 7:00 PM–8:30 PM
Format: In-Person Small Group
Tuition: $240/month

One-on-one Pre-Calculus instruction is also available upon request.
