Algebra I is a foundational mathematics course that marks an important transition from arithmetic to abstract mathematical thinking. Students learn to work with variables, equations, functions, and relationships between quantities while developing the algebraic reasoning and problem-solving skills needed for more advanced mathematics.
Rather than simply memorizing procedures, students learn to understand why algebraic relationships work, make connections between concepts, and apply their knowledge to unfamiliar problems.
The course works alongside the student’s school curriculum, providing additional instruction, practice, and support with challenging concepts, assignments, quizzes, and tests throughout the school year.
The goal is to help students succeed in Algebra I, build confidence in working with abstract concepts, and develop a strong foundation for Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and future mathematics courses.
